Dismissed as misdirected: An appeal to the Office of Open Records that should have been filed with the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, as it involves a request for law enforcement records from the city of Bradford.
“The Right to Know Law clearly provides ... that appeals relating to law enforcement records should be directed to the appeals officer appointed by the county district attorney,” the OOR noted.
The OOR noted that the city, in issuing its denial letter, included the name and address for the DA’s office as well as information for the Office of Open Records, which may be the source of the confusion.
The appeal documents were returned to the requester so he could properly file them with the DA’s office, and the DA’s office was notified.
