A request to Salem Township for the oaths of office for the township secretary and solicitor, a request that the township failed to respond to properly, and was therefore deemed denied.

The Office of Open Records found that the township failed to respond properly to the request on many levels. The township did not respond to the request in writing, did not provide a written denial of the request or invoke an extension, and did not advise the requester on his appeal rights.

However, in response to the requester's appeal to the OOR, the township attested that oaths for the township secretary and solicitor do not exist, and therefore could not be provided.
