Granted: Request that city denied as not specific enough

Granted: A request for records the city of Philadelphia had denied by saying the request was not specific enough to determine what records were requested.
From the Pennsylvania Freedom of Information Coalition

Granted:
A request to the City of Philadelphia for records relating to billboard advertising at certain spots on Interstate 76, and for all records related to Warfield Philadelphia and/or Campus Park & Ride. Both requests were for records from Oct. 1, 2008 through the present.

The city had denied the request, saying it was not specific enough to determine what records were requested, and noted the voluminous nature of the request. The Office of Open Records agreed that the requester's use of the phrase "and all things" was not specific or definable, but that otherwise the request was very specific related to documents.

While the city noted that the request was for a "virtually limitless amount of documents," the OOR noted that the amount of documents requested has no impact on whether the documents are public records to be provided according to the Right to Know Law.
