Granted: A request for 2008 payroll summaries for three Norwegian Township supervisors, including payroll taxes and contributions.
The township provided only the gross pay, and did not provide a written response explaining why employer taxes and contributions had not been provided, the Office of Open Records noted.
Answering the OOR's inquiry, the township asserted that this information is protected from disclosure as "personal financial information." The Office of Open Records in its ruling said the township failed to prove why this was so, and cited provisions of the open records law to the contrary.
